Syrah From Languedoc-Roussillon, France

Robin Goldsmith tells us all about the the Languedoc-Roussillon, in the South of France. At 280,000 hectares, it is the largest vineyard area in the world.  Nearly 1500 producers work the varied land of this area and these wines are known to be hearty quality at a reasonable price.

One of Robin’s favorite examples is Les Jamelles created in 1991 by a husband and wife team Catherine and Laurent Delaunay. The wines they create are region specific and delicious, such as their 2012 award winning Syrah. Robin explains the delicious sounding flavor profile of this wine, and more, on our blog, The Alcohol Professor.
